Judging Criteria

Project Award* category submissions will be judged according to:

  • Originality and the degree of innovation of the project
  • User Benefits: What effect did the project have on its target market its target market
  • Uptake/acceptance: How widely has the project have been developed for and adopted by potential users/customers
  • Commercial Success: What commercial returns has the project generated (where appropriate)

*Project Award categories include: Sports Analytics & Data, Sports Performance & Coaching Technology, Sports Management Technology, Wearables & Smart Devices, Social & Fan Engagement, Sports Broadcasting and Media Technology, eSports, Stadium & Venue Technology
 

The Fast Growth Award and Emerging Sports Technologies Award will be judged according to:

  • Revenue growth over the last 12 months
  • Degree of expansion of new products and/or services offered across the last 12 months
  • Degree of expansion into new marketing domestically and internationally within the last 12 months

 

The Lifetime Leadership Award will be judged according to:

  • The extent of the individuals’s contribution to growth and development of the countries Sports Technology Industry as a whole
  • The individual’s contribution to growth and development of key organisations, businesses and individuals within the industry
  • The leadership qualities the individual has demonstrated in affecting change within the industry

Judging Process

Judging the Global Sports Technology Awards will take place in two stages.

Stage one – Shortlisting

All completed nomination forms will be reviewed by a judging panel for each country to determine the top three nominations in each award category.

Stage two – Judging

Shortlisted nominations will be reviewed by a judging panel including a range of experts across the sports technology industry.

Each judge will score the shortlisted nominations separately and the judges will then come together to identify the winner in each award category.

All three finalists for each category will be invited to attend the Awards Ceremony.

 

 

The judges reserve the right to reject any nomination that is likely to negatively impact the reputation of the country sports technology ecosystem or on any organisation or individual, or any nomination in which a nominee is subject to disciplinary procedures.

The judges reserve the right to reassign any nomination to a category they judge to be more appropriate than that in which the entry has been submitted

The judges’ decision is final and no communication will be entered into regarding any award decisions.
